As the year comes to an end it is time to give thanks with family and friends old and new. Stark White the Glacier has invited some of her CATALYSTS colleagues to spend the holiday visiting her homeland during a great harvest festival in the wild north. Everyone is looking forward to the games and activities designed to honor old traditions, as well as the elaborate feast made to celebrate the bounty before the harsh winter comes. Will the visiting CATALYSTS be welcome in this untamed land, or will the old ways come roaring back?

A note on safety tools
Role playing games can present challenging topics or situations. This is an adult only game and we expect adult themes and situations to come up during play, though we never allow sexual assault by characters or NPCs (or by any players in the room). Please let us know if you have any subject sensitivities during checkout. We have never had any harmful situations and don't anticipate having any for this game, but we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable, creating a more joyful experience for everyone! In the unlikely event that you feel uncomfortable with a situation in the game, we will also implement the "X card" safety tool at the table. Flash it anytime and the story will fade to black with no questions. After the game, you can share with Jessica or the game master any specifics that could help us prevent the situation in the future, and in any format that you are comfortable sharing (in person, email, etc.).

New to the CATALYSTS guild, Stark White the Glacier is made of pure muscle and brute strength, Stark is a force to be reckoned with. She enters the battlefield exclaiming her intimidating catchphrase “winter is coming!” before decimating them all. She is not the first in battle, but she is often the last one standing, defeating even the greatest of foes and earning her champion status. She is from a land far to the north where they have a yearly festival to celebrate the harvest and give thanks before the harsh weather comes. She has invited some of her CATALYSTS colleagues to spend their vacation there with her in hopes of showing them a good time and forging a tighter bond. She is especially looking forward to a playful game of one upmanship with her little cousin Ember who erroneously believes she is the most intimidating and better fighter.

A seasoned veteran aboard the Green Flash, Clyde is the founder of the ORCS and head safety officer, a job he takes very seriously. He trains his crew to be prepared for all types of missions and takes pride in their success. He enjoys the regimented ship life and feels fidgety and anxious on land outside his comfort zone where his inexperience leaves him feeling unable to protect his crew to the best of his abilities. When Stark invited him to visit her homeland he was honored, but initially declined until his friend Zahara successfully persuaded him to join, promising to help him find his land legs on this “mission” to have fun. He soon realizes that his powers to protect and heal are within him wherever he goes.

Zahara had a successful first year with the CATALYSTS and has gained new skills in persuasion and using her charisma to their advantage. She is looking forward to this end of the year vacation with her friends, and hopes to make even more friends in this far away land. She is nimble, clever, sneaky, and seems to have a lucky streak as she approaches the world with childlike wonder. Some may think she is too trusting, but she can hold her own if she finds herself in a sticky situation. Her caring nature makes her especially helpful to her friend Clyde who is having trouble finding his land legs after being at sea for so long.

Carl is a sociologist who specializes in peace studies. He is warm and friendly but with a quiet approach using active listening skills even in the most tense situations. But when he does speak, his powerfully persuasive words feel like healing medicine that make him one of the best negotiators of peace. He is dedicated to his herd of CATALYSTS and has recently learned to form a magical bond with nearby allies to help shoulder their burdens and bolster their resolve in the pursuit of peace. Carl is grateful for the invitation to visit Stark’s homeland and hopes that their presence won’t disturb anyone. He is especially concerned about his partner Lola, whose immersive methods Carl deems intrusive and irritating.

Lola is a delightful paradox of scholarly knowledge and mischievous playfulness. She had a successful first year with the CATALYSTS, gaining an eye for deceit and furthering her investigation skills. As an Anthropologist, she prefers an all-feet-in approach to her field work, shirking research conventions and going rogue by joining in daily activities and reveling in the local festivities and celebrations. Her partner Carl on the other hand, has the opposite approach to field work, preferring more conservative methods that irritate Lola.
