While Santa's helpers are out in the forest harvesting maple syrup, an alarm goes off at the workshop. Something has gone terribly wrong! The toys are all misbehaving and the magic seems to have been corrupted. Help them figure out what has gone wrong and restore the magic in time to save Christmas!

MORE DETAILS

This is a great first-time experience to get a taste for using the Dungeons and Dragons rule system as you help save Christmas! Instead of playing anthropomorphic animals, this time you will be Christmas elves thrust into a heroic adventure to save Christmas in this reprisal of last years Christmas adventure hit, before the development of the ORCS and DORCS game. This is a secular game with seasonal pop-culture themes. Feel free to flavor your character with details from any seasonal holiday!

This will be a brunch game beginning at 11am with a tutorial and the game is expected to go to 2:30 but can go overtime (so we have added an extra 30mins on the calendar just in case). This is an ages 21+ event with mimosas, soft drinks and light snacks provided. All you need to bring is yourself! We provide dice, trays, minis, and character sheets. Experienced players are welcome to bring their own dice and trays if preferred.

This is a one-shot designed for new players (but experienced players are always welcome) and includes everything you need to play, plus a full tutorial before the game starts. For people new to D&D, we have created the characters and a stripped-down character sheet with just essential information. We use level 2 characters for beginners because we find level one just a little too limiting and boring. If you want to get a head start on learning about the characters for this game, you can find them below. Character selection will be made at the end of the tutorial before the game gets started. If you have a favorite you'd like to request, note the name and let us know on the registration form at checkout. We will do our best to give everyone what they want and we will have a roll off in the case of 2 people requesting the same character. You are always welcome to re-flavor your character including name and gender.

If you have played with us before, you will notice these character sheets are laid out differently than our other games. These are our first version before they evolved to our current ones. Since they take hours to complete each, we have opted to just use last years. Below you will find page one but on game day you will have multiple pages that explain the features and spells the character has.

Besides the characters listed below, we also have 2 more to choose from that we couldn't fit on this page. They are the kitchen staff duo known as Evergreen Goodberry and Crumpet Cuddlecakes.

Evergreen Goodberry - Druid (best for an experienced player as they have many magical features and a lot of mechanics and information to keep track of)
Evergreen Goodberry is an expert in thermodynamics which enabled him/her to make the first easy bake oven. Mrs. Clause puts Evergreen's skills to good use in the kitchen baking cookies for the elves and reindeer. Evergreen's personal moto is "kill 'em with kindness" and he/she prefers to provide healing and aide, leaving the fighting to his/her beastly alter-egos or the Sugar Plum Sprite he/she learned to summon while growing up in the Candy Cane Forest. Like many engineers, Evergreen has a tendency to overlook obvious solutions in favor of complicated ones, often persuading others to adopt his/her solution based on shear confusion -- a trait that really annoys his/her colleague in the kitchen, Crumpet Cuddlecakes.

Crumpet Cuddlecakes - Monk (good for a first time player)
Crumpet Cuddlecakes is a natural acrobat which comes in handy as he/she balances multiple cookie trays while helping Mrs. Clause in the kitchen. His/Her careful study of martial arts and meditation also helps him/her keep his/her cool when it gets hot in the kitchen -- both physical temperature or when in competition with his/her colleague Evergreen Goodberry. And they compete about everything! They both think they are the best baker, wisest, most generous, and Mrs. Clause's favorite helper. They are often so locked up with each other they miss the bigger picture and become a hinderance instead of helpful.

A note on safety tools

Role playing games can present challenging topics or situations. This is an adult only game and we expect adult themes and situations to come up during play, though we never allow sexual assault by characters or NPCs (or by any players in the room). Please let us know if you have any subject sensitivities during checkout. We have never had any harmful situations and don't anticipate having any for this game, but we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable, creating a more joyful experience for everyone! In the unlikely event that you feel uncomfortable with a situation in the game, we will also implement the "X card" safety tool at the table. Flash it anytime and the story will fade to black with no questions. After the game, you can share with Jessica or the game master any specifics that could help us prevent the situation in the future, and in any format that you are comfortable sharing (in person, email, etc.).

(Please note: a reservation is required for each player as we only have room for 6 players and 6 characters prepared. If you would like to add a player to your reservation, please contact us to make sure there is room)

Character Details

Jingle Wicklesnot

Christmas Elf

Class:

Fighter

Subclass:

Jingle is the head wood carver for the action figures division of Santa's workshop. He/she takes their job seriously and feels a deep responsibility to make sure every kid gets their toy. He/she has no patience for tomfoolery in the workshop and rules the division with an iron fist. As a master carver and a ripe 128 years old, he/she has seen a few things, giving them a sharp memory when it comes to technological devices. He/she is dexterous, strong, and resilient, but a bit gruff and difficult to please -- which his/her apprentice Twinkle knows all too well!

Twinkle Muffintop

Christmas Elf

Class:

Bard

Subclass:

There is a song for everything and Twinkle knows them all! He/she is constantly playing instruments, singing, telling jokes and all manner of entertaining in the workshop which drives his/her boss, Jingle, crazy. But don't think that means he/she is not good at their job painting the action figures! He/she is quite talented and desperately wants Jingle's approval, hoping someday there will be an opportunity to prove himself/herself once and for all. He/she is great with people, dexterous and has a great memory, but get's distracted easily.

Sneaky Snowflake

Christmas Elf

Class:

Rogue

Subclass:

Sneaky has recently been hired to the new division in the workshop: electronic toys. The smallest and stealthiest of the toymakers, Sneaky can be hard to pin down. Is he/she working hard or hardly working? While his/her colleagues like to laugh and joke about Sneaky's mysterious past, there is a reason he/she is always hiding: [find out on game day] He/she wants to work for Santa to right the wrongs of his/her past. He/she hopes his/her dexterity skills will enable him/her to learn quickly from their mentor, the wonderful wizard, Peppermint Waffletoots.

Peppermint Waffletoots

Christmas Elf

Class:

Wizard

Subclass:

Known for smelling like his name, Peppermint Waffletoots is always up for a joke at his/her expense. He/she has worked at Santa's workshop for many years but has recently been moved to head up the newly formed Electronics division with new hire Sneaky Snowflake as his/her apprentice. Peppermint's skills in enchanting magic, coupled with Sneaky's electrical skills bode well for the new division and Peppermint hopes this is the ticket to his/her lifelong dream: Being the leader of the #1 division of Santa's Workshop. His/her proficiency in persuasion will help, but he/she needs to work on the rest of his people skills to make it to #1.

Starlight Noggenwise

Christmas Elf

Class:

Barbarian

Subclass:

A bit wild and preoccupied with his/her muscles, Starlight puts his/her strength to good use in the classic toys division. But watch out when things don't go his/her way as he/she has a temper, often accidentally damaging things. He/she really wants to get his/her anger in check so more people will want to be friends with him/her and Father Sparkle Tinseltoes has offered to help.

Father Sparkle Tinseltoes

Christmas Elf

Class:

Cleric

Subclass:

Father Tinseltoes was Santa's first helper and has been appointed head toymaker due to his/her high charisma and wisdom. Loved by all for his/her loyalty and dedication, Sparkle can be found giving a helping hand in the workshop, though his/her small stature and limited strength make it difficult to help in some areas. He/she has taken an interest in mentoring Starlight Noggenwise and trying to tame the wild within them.
